This
past weekend, the CCAA Executive Council met to formulate
the Strategic Plan for our association.
The last time the Council had met was in 2006.
With
the advance work that was done in the external issues
committee, the internal issues committee, and the steering
committee, we were able to formulate strategies, discuss
tactics and handle some executive council business before
adjourning.
I
would like to thank the Council for their commitment of
time and talent, their honest, thought-out ideas and
proposals and their professionalism.
It is because of those traits that we were able to
achieve our goals for the weekend.
We
also had the CLLA President, Beau Hays, the EVP, Oliver
Yandle and the next President-elect, Jeff Schatzman among
us. The
league leadership gained insight of the workings of the
Council and the leadership’s presence also gave the
Council an opportunity to address issues that had caused
consternation. I
am certainly pleased how the council and league leadership
worked together productively.
Shortly,
the CCAA will publish its Strategic Plan, along with the
proposed tactics and assignments to
committees/individuals.
My
thanks also goes out to CCAA Council member, Bruce Godwin,
whose assistance in planning the meeting in his home state
was so helpful and to Meg Scotty, Chair of our association
for running an efficient meeting and keeping us on point.
Best
regards,
Annette
